Guam:: cotton lace maxi dress and skirt

I must say being a mom is the most challenging yet rewarding job. My husband and I enjoy every minute of parenting and feel extremely grateful for this wonderful gift God has given us. While we are still learning how to nurture this cheeky, loving, funny, yet strong-willed two year-old young lady, God has so graciously blessed us with our second child who will join our family later this summer. I have always dreamed of being a mother of two, and in a few moths it will be a dream come true.

This is a special moment that needs to be captured and we were fortunate to have found Myrna who suggested a secluded location in beautiful Guam as the backdrop. After arriving at Tanguisson Park, Myrna took us on a 10-minute hike that involved some trespassing (oops) but as we reached the final destination, no words can really describe what a beautiful scene it was. The pristine sand, majestic rock formation setting against the backdrop of the amazing sunset is nothing less than breathtaking.

Travelling with jules, I am looking for something that is cute and breathable. As I was looking for a beach maxi dress with cotton lace, I came across Loveshackfancy. I love everything from Loveshackfancy, especially the kids line.

Functional modern:: backpack with khaki pants

P1040825P1040819P1040818P1040809

I have been in search for a stylish yet functional baby bag for over over 2 years now. As a working mom, I constantly  struggle with carrying a handbag with a bulky “diaper bag”. No matter how much effort and creativity I put into choosing our outfits, the bag just kills the look. While style is of high importance, the bag needs to be functional. Ideally, this dream baby bag should hold all my cosmetics, laptop, plus J’s basic needs (such as water bottles, diapers, one set of extra clothes, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, extra diapers and changing mat).
At last, I found this durable, stylish backpack from Alexander Wang. They offer different sizes and zipper colours but I chose rose gold because it goes well with anything from sophiscated work outfits to edgy weekend outfits and plus, it was on SALE (50% off)! The middle zipper allows the backpack to expand and accommodate a 13″ laptop. Each side pocket can also hold up to a 12 oz water bottle. The single shoulder strap can be unzipped into two straps where you can carry it as a backpack. It also comes with an additional strap should you desire it to be a tote. I just love the versatility and the sleek look! Here are a few shots of Jules and I twining in our khaki pants, hanging out in our favourite coffee shop Artisan Room (near HKU MTR station) on this lazy Sunday afternoon‬ (Zzzzz)

Okinawa :: black and white checkers top

After hearing all the good things about Okinawa, we cannot find a reason not to visit. Everywhere in Okinawa is kids-friendly including the airport washroom. If this is your first time visiting Japan, you’ve got to try musical toilet (yes the toilette sings!), a great amusement for the child, and even adults!
There are a few extraordinary experiences I must share:
The minute we stepped into the tropical theme hotel, the holiday instantly began. Most hotels in japan are relatively small, but this one is an exception. Every suite is spacious with a balcony, two doubles and a living room area. The resort has its own private beach access and we spent an enoyable afternoon admiring at the Okinawa turquoise blue ocean, sipping our cocktail while watching J play with the sand.  For younger toddlers, it may be safer to stay at the hotel swimming pool with waterfalls and water slide. Most hotel guests are Japanese, so the hotel restaurant recommendations are tailored for the locals. The food is reasonably priced and authentic. Please see below for recommendation.

Wearing the Okinawa traditional outfit for a quick family portrait is another highlight of the trip. Anyone would look nice in their colourful kimonos. The fact that it only took 5 minutes made the entire process much more enjoyable with a toddler. There are two booths at Ryukyu Mura that offers the same service, we chose the one closer to the entrance.

The dolphin encounter and feeding experience at Motobu Genki Village is memorable for us. It is such a popular activity that I would highly reccommend booking one month in advance. We found it easier to book through “Okinawa travel info” as they handle all the refund, changes and language barrier. On the day, before we got to play with the dolphins, there was a 10-minute classroom briefing ie dolphin 101. Friendly reminder: It was very hot (35 C) and sunny even in September – hat and sunscreen is a must! If you have time, why not swing by and say hello to the whale shark at Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, which is just right next door. Hope you enjoy Okinawa as much as we do!

XOXO,

Cynthia

  • Linda

Hi, I enjoyed your post about Okinawa. (It’s difficult to find English info with details!) For Motobu Genki Village, did you do both the Dolphin Encounter and Mogu Mogu Picnic tours? How old was your daughter when you went? I will go with my 2 kids (4yo, 1yo) and am wondering if these will be fun for them too.

    Thanks!ReplyCancel

      Hi Linda

Sorry for my late reply. Yes we have been to both. I would reccomend Mogu mogu for your younger one and dolphin encounter for your 4 year old. My daughter was 2 and she was a bit scared of what she called “big dolphin”.ReplyCancel

Summer romance :: off shoulder lace mother daghter

Hi everyone,

Romantic white lace

When I first try on this dress, I immediately fall in love with the scalloped neckline and how it dips into the V back. While the long sleeves keeps it elegant and classy, the see through lace at the back makes it breathable even in hot summer.

  • Dee

I love this dress a lot too! When I first saw it it reminded me of something Audrey Hepburn would wear and Twiggy would flatter, but your cute little stature pulled it off very well and your choice of classy hair styled tied in well! I like how your black hair contrast with the lace dress. It’s classy, flirty and elegant all in one! brings back time in a modern way!ReplyCancel

  • I was suggested this blog by my cousin. I am not sure whether this post is written by him

  • I seriously love your blog.. Very nice colors
& theme. Did you create this amazing site yourself?
Please reply back as I’m looking to create my own website
and want to find out where you got this from or what the theme is named.
    Appreciate it!ReplyCancel

  • Hey there :)

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind
me asking what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I
    steal it? :P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like
yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a
    bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback) –
    it’s still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of yourself during the coronavirus scare!ReplyCancel

  • I like the valuable info you provide in your articles. I’ll bookmark your blog and
check again here frequently. I am quite sure
I will learn many new stuff right here!
    Good luck for the next!

P.S. If you have a minute, would love your feedback on my new
website re-design. You can find it by searching for “royal cbd” – no sweat if you can’t.

    Keep up the good work!ReplyCancel

  • With havin so much written content do you ever run into any problems
of plagorism or copyright infringement? My blog has a lot
of unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but
it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you know
any methods to help prevent content from being stolen? I’d definitely
    appreciate it.ReplyCancel
